A commitment to training is at the heart of USSPL’s philosophy. Our training division ensures that all its candidates have appropriate & compulsory valid STCW convention-95 safety training and where necessary augmented by incorporating client company safety training, through in-house or third party institutes, to comply with client or local safety requirements.

We also believe in doing in-house briefing/education and imparting training to seafarer with regard to operations, technical maintenance and running repairs of the ships under our charge. The training is imparted to seafarer with regard to safety management system and international 'Safety Management Code', for operating ships and also emphasis is being laid on the ISPS Code, in deference to International security concerns and to MARPOL Annex 6, in deference International pollution concerns. Our personalized service to seafarers includes being in constant contact, and monitoring their certificate requirements during their leave. All of which translates into a high retention rate.

The Company attracts a continuous flow of fresh resources who are groomed to become the future officers. This is important particularly in view of the ever growing shortage of senior officers. We have cadets (TNOC) & engineers (TMEO) who started their career with us are now Masters Or Chief Engineers & most of them are still sailing in our company.
